Mud
"You know, you're me best mate in here! Everyone else only ever wants to get rid of me. I'm really grateful to you."
Mud approaches the Hero as soon as he spots someone new, cheerfully asking to tag along since he figures the Hero could use a friend. If rebuffed he takes it in stride, assuming it's just a bad day, and if welcomed he chats eagerly as they walk together. If the Hero turns violent toward him, he first assumes the Hero just wants space, but eventually gives up on the friendship entirely, calling him a "freak."
As he trails the Hero, Mud shares pieces of his own backstory: he is from Khorinis, was abandoned by his parents as a small child, and suspects he ended up in the Colony because he loves animals and people found that strange enough to lock him up over. He says other Colony residents think he's a bit odd, and mentions that mean New Campers have bullied him for years, something he hopes will stop now that the Hero is around to back him up, since they won't have a clue he's got someone looking out for him now.
Mud grows increasingly attached over their time together, calling the Hero "like a big brother to me" and offering to put in a good word for his acceptance into the Old Camp. He even fantasizes about the two of them taking over the Old Camp together despite the ore barons. He also asks the Hero for food, since as a guest it would only be proper to share, and wonders idly whether the Colony will ever get proper visitors.
