Herek is openly hostile toward the Hero, telling him to get lost simply because he doesn't like his face, and boasting that he ended up in the Colony for killing twelve men in a single night. When the Hero challenges him directly, he's happy to fight, saying "You want me to fuck you up? Sure thing!" He also confronts the Hero for refusing to pay protection money to Bloodwyn, noting that the warders now have to cover the missing share themselves, and promises the Hero won't forget it next time Bloodwyn comes asking.
