Fingers

"Ah, why didn't you lead with that."

Fingers is the Old Camp's best thief, and Diego names him as the person to see about lockpicking and pickpocketing. When the Hero asks him to put in a good word for joining the Shadows, Fingers is initially dismissive, but warms up once he learns Diego sent him. He agrees to vouch for the Hero on the condition he proves himself capable, asking if he knows his way around a lock.

As a teacher, Fingers offers real tradecraft. He warns against forcing lockpicks like "randy sailors trying to crack open a harbor brothel," advising a gentler touch so fewer picks break, and says a pick makes a distinct sound just before it snaps that a skilled thief learns to listen for. For pickpocketing, he explains the method is distraction, bumping or tapping a mark so the other hand can slip into their pocket unnoticed, always making sure there are no witnesses and picking isolated targets over crowded ones.
