Baal Orun

"You not only proved that you are on our side, but also that you are able to defend our cause with a blade if need be."

Baalorun is a guru of the Brotherhood who first approaches the Hero after hearing that he stood up for Ghorim, telling him he was right to stand up for a brother in need. Taking this as proof the Hero wants to join, he sets a task: Cor Kalom needs fresh swampweed for his experiments, and someone has to collect a delivery from the harvesters out in the bog and bring it to his laboratory. When the Hero presses for directions, Baalorun bristles at being addressed without permission, then relents, "May the Sleeper forgive you for this blunder," and tells him that if joining is truly his purpose, he'll find the harvesters on his own.

After the Hero protects the harvesters, Baalorun credits him with proving himself both loyal and capable with a blade, and promises that if Cor Kalom asks about him, he will give his recommendation. He also speaks about the camp's production, describing it as demanding since the novices are pushing themselves to the limit to meet both the Brotherhood's own needs and its trade with the other camps, work he says they do gladly because "their sweat honors the Sleeper."

Once the Hero delivers the swampweed to Cor Kalom, Baalorun rewards him with a scroll that can put someone to sleep, usable only once, telling him he hopes it will serve him well. At other times, he brushes off casual greetings from the Hero with nothing more than a disappointed sigh.
